Who is the WHO? WHO stands for the World Health Organization? The WHO is an international agency of the United Nations dedicated to global public health. It does, however, provide guidelines for maintaining good hygiene and prevention of epidemics.

WHO is part of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Trade Organization. It is governed by a Single National Coordinating Committee. The WHO has its headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. From its office, it supervises all activities related to the world health organization and the implementation of policies there.

WHO is part of the United Nations system? Its mission is “to promote health, preventing disease, improving health and the maintenance of world health policy”. The WHO is made up of different departments. It has branches in all parts of the world. Its Director is the chief medical officer of the WHO. Other members are the heads of departments that are concerned with specific fields of diseases: AIDS Prevention, Community Health management, epidemiology, general medical problems, vaccines, immunology, pharmacology, physiology, sociology and political science.

WHO’s Emergency Health Services division is responsible for the delivery of medical assistance under the emergency laws? This division exists for the betterment of the quality of the health care system and for the protection of the public against the introduction of communicable diseases. WHO has been given an emblem with a red ribbon by the government of many countries? This red ribbon is a symbol of alerting people to an outbreak of a communicable disease.
